The Madras Courier said "Indies for Unity" is an annual award given to an individual from the South Asian diaspora community for contributions to Indian society that promotes the Indian diaspora's unity.
The award will be handed over at a ceremony on July 16 in Chennai.
Indian-American Kumudini Sapra is the founder of the Hindu center "Hindu Rashtra".
